In her donation letter, dated October 30th, 1968, Ellentuck notes that the final artwork for A Sunflower a Big as the Sun was created using color separations on acetate; in correspondence with Ellentuck on July 23rd, 2018, she notes that this donation is the original piece on which she modeled the separations.
