Pinchot, in a statement issued last night, said in part:  "When I opened my campaign, I named Ed Vare, Max Leslie and Larry Eyre as three of the powers who, behind the mask of the contractors' candidate, were attempting to take possession of the state of Pennsylvania.  Later Govenor Sproul added himself to them....Their effort to annul the direct primary and dictate a govenor to suit their own purposes is known to the whole state."
