To these two married people, namely Samuel Fankhauser and his lawful wife Elisabeth born Keblingerin a son was born into the world, on the 4^th day of July in the year of the Lord 1841. This son was born in Brecknock township, Lancaster county, in the state of Pennsylvania in North America; and he received through the Holy Baptism the name Schembers Fankhauser, on the [blank] day [blank] in the year [blank], from the honorable Mr. Miller. The sponsors were his father and mother. M[ade] by David Bixler 1842.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text in Fraktur is enclosed in a frame. Two putti on a cloud are in the top center. Two angels with lyres, one holding a wreath and one holding a bird flank the text. Two birds holding a flowering vine in their beaks are in the bottom corners. The image is framed by a decorated band.
