Catharina was born to Christian and honest parents, in Pennsylvania, in Bruderswälly [Brothers Valley) Township, in Somerset County in the year of our Lord 1793, the 25th of November. Her parents were Johannes Stutzmann and his wife Anna, a born Speicherin.
Daniel Esch and Catharina Stutzmänin were married in the year of Christ 1814, the 3rd of April, and on the same day were united in marriage. God may give them much good fortune and blessing and a healthy long life in peace and harmony.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The main text is framed by a decorative border. Surrounding the frame are four verses within hearts, as well as various rosettes and stemmed flowers, including tulips. Fan-shaped motifs are in the corners.
Although this certificate is attributed to the Brothers Valley Artist, its heart and floral motifs relate to the work of fraktur artist Henrich Weiss.
