So schenckt er mir auch seinen \ Geist, der mir den Weeg zum Leben \ weißt, die Lieb ins Hertze gießet, die \ mir mein Leyd und Traurigkeit \ vermindert und versüßet.

Translation:

Friederich Hill [added in script: died the 24st of November, 1845] was born on the 12th of November 1798 in Richmond Township, Berks County, and in the state of Pennsylvania. His parents are Jacob Hill and his lawful wife Catharina, a born Herbeinin. On the 10th of March 1799, he was baptized by the honorable Mister Daniel Lehmann, Lutheran preacher. The sponsors were Friederich Hill and his lawful wife Philippina. In the year 1816, he was instructed and confirmed by Mister pastor Johan Knoske.
God be praised in eternity, who has blessed me and makes me happy in Christ his son, whom he sent from his throne for salvation and for my benefit. He has selected me before the world, and counted me with his children. He will never leave me. What he gives to one whom he loves no mind can comprehend.

[in lower left]
In Christ he does not look at what my mischief has done, when my faith takes hold of him and my breast hates with sincerity and disgust the flesh’s desires.

[in lower right]
So he also grants me his spirit that guides me the way to life, pours love into my heart, which lessens and sweetens my suffering and sadness.
