David Fedly ist geboren in \ virginien Schenandoa Caunty den 8ten January 1788 \ seine Eltern sind David Fedly und seine ehefrau Elisabeth \ seine Taufzeugen sind Georg Rincker und seine frau Catha= \ rina, er ward getauft von Herrn Deschler Diene des worts
Erhalte mich durch meine taufe, Im bündlein der lebendigen \ Und führe mich in meinem Lauffe, Vom Irdigschen \ zum Himmlischen, daß ich durch diesen \ jordan geh, und dort \ im lebens lande \ steh
 


Translation:

David Fedly was born in Virginia, Shenandoah County, on the 8th of January 1788. His parents are David Fedly and his wife Elisabeth. His sponsors are Georg Rincker and his wife Catharina. He was baptized by Mister Deschler, servant of the Word.
Preserve me through my baptism in the covenant of the living, and lead me in my course from the earthly to the heavenly, that I may walk through this Jordan and stand there in the land of life.

Hand-drawn; hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur and German script within a heart is in the center of the document. Along the upper border is a pair of swagged drapes or curtains with three tassels. Below the heart are tulips. The entire document is framed by a decorative border.
