Translation:

This New Testament belongs to me, Tobias Scholl. Use it for your instruction and for the glory of God. Amen.
As a flower in a garden is life in this world which we have early in the morning and wilted already by evening. As a fog emerges and quickly goes away again, so our time passes; we hasten to eternity. Amen. February the 24th 1842.
