Hand-colored; hand-lettered. The text in Fraktur extends across the document. This bookplate is in Das Neue Testament (Germantaun: Christoph Saur, 1769). (PA GER Germantown 1769 B471)   On the third page is an additional, printed, bookplate that reads : “Dieses Neue Testament gehöret mir, Catharina Pott. Es ist mir von meinem sehr geliebten Groß-Vater Johannes Hoch zum Andenken geschenkt worden, im Jahr 1772. [This New Testament belongs to me, Catharina Pott. It was presented to me by my beloved grandfather in the year 1772]” Below in script is written: “sie ist gestorben auf das Jahr 1830 in iahr Christi Den 8 November [she died in the year 1830 in the year of Christ on the 8th of November].” On the third page is written in script: “Catharina Pott ist gebohren im Jahr unsers Herrn 1764, den 6ten Junius zwischen 12 und 1 Uhr morgens. Dieses ist mein liebes Buch Darin ich Jesum Christum such [Catharina Pott was born in the year of our Lord 1764, on the 6th of June between midnight and 1 AM in the morning. This is my dear book in which I seek Jesus Christ].”
