Dr. Jeffrey Brenner, MD
TEDx Talk Topic: Healthcare Hotspotting: Innovative Approaches to Caring for Super-Utilizers
A family physician for over 15 years serving the Camden, NJ area, he is working to build an integrated, health delivery model to provide better care for area residents.
Dr. Brenner owns and operates a solo-practice, urban family medical office that provides full-spectrum family health services to a largely Hispanic, Medicaid-funded population, delivering babies, caring for children and adults, and making house calls to homebound patients. Recognizing the need for a new way for hospitals, providers, and community residents to collaborate, he founded and has served as the Executive Director of the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers since 2003. Dr. Brenner’s work has been profiled in The New Yorker and in an episode of PBS’ Frontline. He is also the Medical Director of the Urban Health Institute, a dedicated business unit built at the Cooper Health System focused on improving care of the underserved. Most recently, Dr, Brenner received a MacArthur award in 2013.
