The HOUR OF CODE is coming!
The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. There is no experience needed and tutorials are available in over 40 languages.
This year, there are 148,323 separate Hour of Code events scheduled around the world.
To celebrate Computer Science Education Week, December 7-13, the Free Library will be hosting five Hour of Code events around the city! Three events are scheduled at the library's Hot Spot locations and two (age-restricted) events will be held at the Parkway Central Library:
Monday, December 7: Free Library Hot Spot at The Village of Arts and Humanities
2544 Germantown Avenue, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, December 8: Parkway Central Library
1901 Vine Street, Room 108, 3:00-5:00 p.m. (a Teen Tuesday event)
Wednesday, December 9: Free Library Hot Spot at Mercy Ministries
1939 Venango Street, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 10: Parkway Central Library
Children’s Department, 3:00-5:00 p.m. (school-aged attendees only)
Friday, December 11: Free Library Hot Spot at Heavenly Hall
