(2) Cadillac-1906
Cadillac designers, in 1906, adopted a variation of the crescent moon motif, with interesting results. The crank on the side indicates that you might have wound this model up on a spring and just let it run down--but such was not the case. This car was driven by a gasoline engine--much improved over Selden's invention of 29 years before--and it was enclosed. Pneumatic tires marked one of the first big steps toward riding ease of present day cars.
