Notes: This manuscript contains an incomplete copy the XXIV Collationes, or Conferences, of John Cassian, a monk and ascetic who lived ca. 360 - 435 AD. The Collationes record the conversations of John Cassian and his companion Germanus with Egyptian hermits on the various aspects of the solitary life and hermitic spirituality. This initial D begins the preface to the first ten books of the Collationes dedicated to Bishop Leontius of Fréjus.
