This page begins a manuscript that was written at the Cloister of Jericho in Brussels. The colophon that appears at the end of the text explains that the book was written by twelve scribes: eleven nuns and their confessor, Father Philip Nicholas, who wrote out the book as an act of devotion. The book comprises the Rule of St. Augustine along with Hugh of St. Victor's explanation of the text. The main text is underlined in red and the commentary is left without underlining in order to differentiate it from the rest.
