Christ Bearing the Cross
This miniature, which opens Sext of the Hours of the Virgin, was painted by a member of the Gold Scrolls Group. The "Gold Scrolls" style was prevalent in Bruges during the first half of the fifteenth century. Although not seen in this miniature, its characteristic feature is the stylized design of gold vines against a single-color background.
