Notes: This miniature, which opens the Hours of the Cross, was painted by a member of the Gold Scrolls Group. The "Gold Scrolls" style was prevalent in Bruges during the first half of the fifteenth century. Its characteristic feature is the design of gold vines against a single-color background.
