Bedencke wohl in allen Sachen, die du hast \ auf der welt zu machen, daß Gott der alles \ hört uns sieht, auch Schauet was von dir geschieht, \ und das du must vom thun und Leben, am Jüngste \ Tag Rechnung geben. Deßwegen nimm bey Tag \ und nacht doch dein Gewissen wohl in acht.

Creutz ungemach Noth und beschwerden, sind from \ men wohl bekannt auf Erden, drum sey getrost und unver \ zagt, wann Dich zu zeiten auch waß plagt, Gott sendet dir \ des Creutzes ruth, nach Vatters art und dir zu gut, damit \ dir hier die welt verleyd und dich nicht von dem himmel \ Scheidt.

Die Demuth ist eine Hohe Tugend, Das alters zier und \ schmuck der Jugend, sie führt den menschen Himmel \ an. Drum bleib ihr Immer zugethan, waß will der \ Mensch daß würmlein Prangen, der was er hat von \ Gott empfangen, den Jede Kranckheit stracks verstelt und \ den der Tod zur erden fält.
 

Translation:

A. Upon God’s grace and tender blessing everything depends wholly and entirely. Without heaven’s help and favor all the efforts of people are in vain. Therefore, remain in fear of God and cling to it throughout your whole life, because it brings understanding and wisdom; also, it makes that everything turns out well.

B. Consider well in all things which you have to do in the world, that God who hears and sees everything also sees what is done by you. And that you must of your deeds and life render an account on judgment day. Therefore consider your conscience well by day and by night.

C. Cross, discomfort, need and distress are well known to people on earth. Therefore be comforted and undaunted if, at times, something is bothering you too. God sends you the rod of the cross after the manner of the father, and for your good, so that the world may displease you and you will not be afraid of heaven.

D. Humility is a lofty virtue, the adornment of old age and the jewels of youth. It leads people toward heaven. Therefore remain ever devoted to it. Why should a person, the little worm, be proud, who has received what he has from God, whom every disease promptly disfigures, and whom death strikes to earth.
