Kunst und verstand sind Edle gaben, Befleise dich sie \ auch zu haben fürnemlich in der Jugend frist, da alles leicht zu lernen ist, Hat dir dann GOtt ein Pfund \ geschenckt so werd es von dir nicht versenckt zu Gottes \ Ehren wend es an, Daß dich dein Nächster \ Brauchen kan.

Mit mäsigkeit ist leicht zu hausen, Die armuth \ machet ihr kein Grausen, weil die den Überfluß abstelt \ und alles nur nach Nothdurfft hält, Gesundheit \ steht ihr an der Seiten, Laß sie dir auch den Tisch \ bereiten, und brauche mit ihr Speiß und Tranck, so wirst du alt und selten kranck.
 

Translation:

J. The more your enemies envy you, the more you shall avoid evil. The more you are despised and hated, the more be armed with reason. A pious person will remain upright no matter what hate and envy do to him. He who stands well with his creator is a person who never sinks.

K. Skill and reason are precious gifts. Strive to have them as well, especially in youth when everything is easy to learn. If God has given you a pound, it should not be wasted by you. Use it for God’s glory, so that your neighbor may have use of you.

L. Let love possess your heart, let love always warm you; not love that burns in lewdness and runs after base lust. The love of God shall impel you that you may avoid the evil, that you love your neighbor as yourself, and carry the cross patiently.

M. With moderation it is easy to live; poverty causes it no fear because it does away with abundance, and keeps everything only according to need. Health stands by its side, let it also prepare you the table, and share with it food and drink. Then you will grow old and rarely be sick.
