Free Library of Philadelphia Community Impact Awards
Celebrating those making a difference in Early Childhood Literacy across Philadelphia.
On June 8, 2023, the Free Library of Philadelphia will hold the inaugural Community Impact Awards. Hosted by the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation, the awards will be an annual event that will recognize direct service organizations that are committed to work that is central to the mission of the Free Library: to advance literacy, guide learning, and inspire curiosity.
As one of the most wide-reaching civic and cultural institutions in Philadelphia, the Free Library is uniquely positioned to identify and honor those making a difference, through philanthropy and through direct service. This year's awards will honor those making an impact in Early Childhood Literacy.
The direct service organizations receiving the inaugural Community Impact Awards are: the African American Children's Books Project, Barbershop Books, Joyful Readers, Philibros, Reading Allowed and Read 2 Succeed Philadelphia. These groups represent the passionate and diverse work being done across the city. We salute them for their dedication to improving childhood literacy.
