Philadelphia is a wellspring of inspiring young people, with our innovative communities and the creative spirit of the city bringing out the best in many of our young leaders. Today, we would like to give back! Have you been thinking about the significance of our youth in Philadelphia? How can we celebrate their efforts and honor their bright futures right here at home?

Yoga and Mindfulness at the Free Library

Yoga and Mindfulness for Kids at Andorra Library
Spend an evening practicing mindfulness, for kids K-12. The program is hosted by the LEAP team, a Literacy Enrichment Afterschool Program available at every neighborhood library.






Breathing Buddies at Falls of Schuylkill Library
A craft making activity for school-age children, that focuses on breathing techniques with a hand-made animal friend.




Gentle Yoga with Roots2Rise at South Philadelphia Library
Roots2Rise is a community empowerment nonprofit that offers communal support for physical, mental, and emotional health in Philadelphia through yoga and meditation.




Inspiring Youth Throughout Philly

POPPYN is a youth-led news network that uses local media as a tool for empowering change and highlighting missing perspectives on local and national issues. In the spirit of spreading awareness, tune into POPPYN’s news network





The Sunrise Movement is a climate action group led by young people with a mission to fill in the workforce gaps created by climate change, while defeating the root causes. Explore their goals for the Green New Deal and get connected to the movement!



Mighty Writers challenges the status quo by motivating kids to write their stories and bring awareness to the experiences they have in their daily lives. Creating an environment of self-expression can help kids learn to think clearly and reach avenues of success that they may otherwise not have access to. Find Mighty Writers in your neighborhood!





The Village of Arts and Humanities has paid jobs and creative workshops for young people! They are an interactive center for creating community through visual art, dance, and music. In their mission, they hold space to preserve Black heritage in North Central Philadelphia. Learn about their history and future plans.




The Parkway Central Library opened a new Teen Center this past spring, with activities, games, and hangouts just for teens. The space creates a fun and safe environment for teens to express themselves as they get to know their peers. Check out some of their amazing events!
