The Language of Food: An Open Mic Poetry Night
Literature Department at Parkway Central Library
"I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox...." William Carlos Williams
From Dunbar, to Plath, Young and more, we’re celebrating our emotional and cultural connections to food. The Culinary Literacy Center in partnership with the Free Library's Literature Department invites you to listen or perform an original piece in The Free Library of Philadelphia’s Skyline Room. A book display with various poems about food will be provided so you can find something that speaks to you to perform!
This event is free, but advance registration is required. Register for the event here.
Readers and poets please limit performances to 3 minutes. Please keep content related to the topic of food and appropriate for all ages.
