The last prayer is illustrated by an abstract representation of heart surrounded by four bleeding wounds.
This manuscript was made in Flanders for the wealthy English merchant John Browne and his wife Agnes. These exquisite initials and gilded borders in this opening give some indication of the opulence that fills the leaves of this manuscript.
