Notes: The image of the Trinity (the dove of the Holy Spirit above God the Father and Christ) was a common image with which to begin the French prayer, known as the Seven Requests to our Lord, because the prayer begins by addressing the Trinity. Along with the Fifteen Joys of the Virgin, this prayer was a common accessory text in fifteenth-century French books of hours.
