Title: Oedipi et Sphingis dialogus (Dialogues between Oedipus and the Sphinx)
Script: Cursive
Language: Latin and Greek
Folio Number: p. 157
Source: Rare Book Department

Notes: The text of this manuscript is organized as a series of dialogs between Oedipus and the Sphinx, in which the Sphinx poses riddles to which Oedipus must provide answers.

Drawings and damage to pages throughout the manuscript suggest that at some point it became part of a child's book collection. Indeed, in 1741, a young boy who had access to the book inscribed "J'aimerois bien ma petite soeur si elle n'etoit pas si sotte" (I would love my little sister if she were not so stupid).
