The following neighborhood branches will be open on Saturdays this summer from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m:

All Free Library branches will be closed on June 22, June 29, August 31, and September 7, 2024.

Parkway Central Library IS open during the summer on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. along with the listed 10 neighborhood libraries starting July 6th.

Parkway Central isn't really center city, though, and for those of us who do live in center city, it's quite a walk--especially in the heat we've been seeing. I understand that it's about budget and staff availability and there's not much you can do, but this does mean I'm going to be going to the library a lot less.

Do you know if there are plans in the near future to open the Andorra, Roxborough or Falls of Schuylkill branches on Saturday? While I don't mind going to Parkway Central, it would be nice to have a branch open a shorter distance away. The new weekday hours are also not very convenient for people that work 9-5.
