It may feel like summer has only just began, but at the Free Library we are already prepping for back-to-school and the arrival of our Jumpstart Camp program.
Jumpstart is a three-week camp that meets Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Beginning August 14, the program will "jumpstart" students immediately before the school year, providing students entering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades with a free back-to-school boost. In addition to traditional lessons, read alouds, group discussions, games, crafts, and writing activities, students will receive free breakfast and lunch.
This year, the following neighborhood library locations are hosting Jumpstart programs:
- Blanche A. Nixon/Cobbs Creek Library
- Frankford Library
- Joseph E. Coleman Northwest Regional Library
- Paschalville Library
- Ramonita G. de Rodriguez Library
With a thematic focus on bugs and their ecosystems, Jumpstart will incorporate activities in literacy, science, math, and much more.
Registration may fill up fast—contact one of the participating neighborhood libraries to sign your child up. There are 15 spots available at each location.
See you at the library!
