The Free Library of Philadelphia's Summer of Wonder program is almost here! Read and explore all summer long with our free activities and programs that support reading, learning, exploration, and fun. This program is designed for children and teens from birth to 12th grade, as well as adults, and there are multiple ways to get involved.

Your Neighborhood Library
The Summer of Wonder begins in neighborhood libraries on Monday, June 3 and will run until Friday, August 2. Visit your local library to sign up for an activity passport, which you can use to track your progress. Each neighborhood library will host a variety of enrichment activities including storytimes, arts and crafts, STEM experiments, challenges, robotics, games, and more! Participants can win prizes just for signing up! Adults can also get in on the fun at select neighborhood libraries, where there will be special raffles for reading, attending library events, and more. See what you can read and explore this summer!

Visit starting June 1 to sign up! Record your reading minutes, participate in online challenges, and earn points that can be entered for raffle prizes. You can login from a desktop computer or use the Beanstack Tracker mobile app, for iOS and Android devices!

Summer Camp Challenge
Camps, daycares, and other organizations can sign up for the Free Library's summer camp challenge which includes a FREE toolkit and a visit and special program from a library staff member. Science in the Summer
GSK's Science in the Summer is back and this year's theme is the Science of Me! Science in the Summer is a free, hands-on science education program taught by certified teachers for children entering grades 2-6. Twenty-nine Free Library locations will host workshops this summer. Class sizes are kept to 16 students and may fill up, so register early!

August Workshops
In August, libraries throughout the city will host workshops. One of the August workshops is Camp Play & Learn. Camp Play & Learn is a two week camp for students entering 1st to 3rd grade to prepare them to go back to school. It will run from August 12 to the 23. Participating students are provided breakfast and lunch. The following neighborhood libraries will host this program: Blanche A. Nixon/Cobbs Creek Library, Lawncrest Library, West Oak Lane Library, Whitman Library, and Wynnefield Library. To register, contact the host library. Stay tuned for more details about our other August workshops which will include a robotics camp, a partnership with Magic Gardens, and a drama camp.
