Notes: This opening contains the Suffrages to Sts. Michael Archangel and John the Baptist. The miniature on the left depicts St. Michael about to slay the dragon, an event described in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 12:7-9). St. John, on the right, gestures towards a lamb wearing a golden halo, a reference to the Baptist?s proclamation: "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29).
