Notes: Item 1, top left: Exterior view of the Girard Trust Building, located at the Northeast corner of Broad & Chestnut. Designed in the Romanesque revival-style by Addison Hutton, this early high-rise office building was completed in 1889 for the Girard Trust Company. The building served as the Franklin National Bank before it was demolished in 1926. Also shown is the adjoining Betz Building, which was constructed 1889-1890 after designs by William H. Decker.
