Fly, Eagles, Fly! 5 Ways to Celebrate the Big Game with the Free Library

By Kate C. RSS Fri, February 10, 2023

Are you ready for some football?! We are! We can't wait to watch our Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. While you wait out the last couple days before kickoff, here are five ways you can celebrate and cheer on the Birds with the Free Library!

1. Borrow a shiny football-shaped cake pan from the collection at the McPherson Square Library, and bake something delicious for gameday! Cake pans are just one of the unique items the Free Library lends, after all!

2. Keep the Birds on the brain and check out a birding backpack from select neighborhood libraries in our system! Who knows, you might just pick up a new hobby while you’re out clearing your head before Sunday night. Backpacks include a field guide, park map, and binoculars.

3. Practice your celebration dance with a class near you, or borrow a book or DVD from our catalog.

4. Whip up something delicious for your party with the help of the Culinary Literacy Center! They especially recommend these buffalo chicken and cheese balls

5. Brush up on your Eagles trivia in our Knowledge Base, and browse some sports history in our digital collections.
