E. W. Clay's Life in Philadelphia was a series of fourteen cartoons produced between 1828 and 1830 caricaturing Philadelphia's free Black population. The aquatint engravings featured racist depictions of African Americans in a variety of situations about town. Appealing to the prevailing anti-abolitionist sentiment of the times, their influence extended to other cities in America and abroad.

Cartoon drawn by E. W. Clay. Etched by Charles Hunt. Published in London by Harrison Isaacs, Charles Street, Soho Square. Caption: "Have you any flesh coloured silk stockings, young man? Oui Madame! here is von pair of de first qualitie!"
