Depiction of the western portico of the Bank of Pennsylvania. Built in 1800, the Benjamin Latrobe-designed building was the first example of the Greek Revival-style in the United States. Viewed from a point near Dock Street, this engraving shows people strolling the sidewalk in front of the iron railings which enclose the grounds ornamented with trees, shrubs, flowers and fountains.
