Print and Picture Collection
Depicts a scene looking north on Broad Street from City Hall. The Masonic Temple dominates the view on the right. Completed in 1873, the Temple was designed in the Norman style by the 27 year-old James H. Windrim. The towers in the distance, at Arch Street, are those of the First Baptist Church (left) and the Arch Street Methodist Church. The foreground is busy with horse-drawn carriages and carts and well-dressed people.
