Item pdcc01225, top [image dimensions 15.0 cm x 20.1 cm]:
Depicts horse-drawn sleighs speeding up and down a wide snow-covered street. Crowds are promenading on the sidewalk and, in the foreground, a child pulls a sled in the snow. Stately mansions and other buildings that border this section of North Broad Street provide a sharp contrast to this flurry of activity.
Taken from A Century After: Picturesque Glimpses of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania (1875) by Earl Shinn. Published by Allen, Lane & Scott and J. W. Lauderbach. Philadelphia. 1875.
