Notes: Item 1, top: Two lithographic illustrations from an album plate documenting the brewerytown complex of Bergner & Engels Brewing Company. The company was formed in 1870 and became one of the largest breweries in the country. Shows individual buildings within the complex: bottling house; ale & porter brewery; storage for malt & hops; cooper shops; coal storage; freight office and Engleside station for the Penna. R. R. Company. Also shows the shunting of the company's refrigerator railroad cars around the complex and the loading of barrels onto horse-drawn wagons. Chromolithographs 22.8 x 16.6cm.
