Notes: Item 1, top: View looking through gate posts onto the grounds of Frankford Arsenal. The road, stretching away into the distance is lined with stacks of cannonballs on the left. Cannon are visible behind the line of trees on the right. Also shows a partial view of the guard house on the right and other buildings in the middle distance on the left. A uniformed guard stands at the entrance. Note the cannon atop the gate posts surmounted with gas lamps. In the foreground trolley tracks run along a cobblestoned street. 23.7 x 18.9 cm.
Notes: Item 2, bottom: Newspaper photograph showing buildings on Fifteenth Street and Sansom Streets to be demolished. The site became occupied by the Horace Trumbauer addition of the Union League clubhouse. Photograph accompanies a scrap (separated) on the history of the site.
