Items 1 and 2 are from a 1949 Philadelphia Bulletin article about the Henry West Breyer, Sr. mansion in Elkins Park, PA. The article continues on #pdcc03102.
Item 1, top: Text and two images relating to Mrs. Henry Breyer and the Breyer Estate. Henry West Breyer, Sr., of Breyer's ice cream fame, had this Colonial Revival mansion built in 1915, by architectural firm Koelle, Speth & Co. Since 1956, it serves as the Cheltenham Township Municipal building. In 2004, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Next to the text is an inset of Mrs. Henry Breyer, shortly after her 72nd birthday; below her image is an exterior view of the residence. In the article, the home is referred to as "one of the nation's great showplaces." The article measures 20 x 19 cm, including text and images. The images are reproductions of two photographs for The Philadelphia Bulletin, 9.5 x 10 cm (top, oval) and 14.5 x8.5 cm, 2/13/1949.
