Item 1, entire page: Text and two images relating to the Breyer Estate, in Elkins Park, PA. This is a continuation of the article seen in the previous item, #pdcc03101. Henry West Breyer, Sr., of Breyer's ice cream fame, had this Colonial Revival mansion built in 1915, by architectural firm Koelle, Speth & Co. Since 1956, it serves as the Cheltenham Township Municipal building. In 2004, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Above the text are side-by-side images of two rooms in the mansion. The text describes in detail the tireless efforts of Mrs. Henry Breyer to create a lavish residence. The article, including the images, measures 26 x 30 cm (irregular cropping). The two photographs are reproductions for The Philadelphia Bulletin, 10 x 14.5 cm, 2/13/1949.
