Item 1, entire page:  Text for a 1921 Evening Bulletin column "Random Jottings," and the caption reads, "Gleanings From Highways and Byways and some Old Lanes."   The first musing concerns the debate in Congress about granting a "bonus" to all who served in WWI, whereas there was a lack of healthcare benefits for the veterans in need.  It goes on to discuss other appropriations being allowed for restoring the Old City Hall, and Federal agencies temporarily sharing space in the new City Hall at Broad & Market Streets.  The article continues with stories about the changing history of Independence Square, its earliest residents, homes, and public buildings.  Text for an Evening Bulletin column, 17 x 32 cm, 4/9/1921.
