Notes:
Item 1, entire two pages: 1897 in situ engraving of Wanamaker's Grand Depot at 13th & Chestnut Streets, after successive additions to its original 1876 building. This two-page drawing labels nearby buildings (City Hall, Reading Railway Terminal, Broad St. Station) and shows bustling vehicular and pedestrian activity, highlighting the fact of the department store's prime location in Center City. This building was demolished in stages between 1902-1910, and replaced by an even grander John Wanamaker's Department Store (since 2006, Macy's). Reproduction of an engraving for an unidentified newspaper, 39 x 26 cm, 11/29/1897.
