Halftone reproduction of print depicting a characteristic scene of old omnibus days. The scene is the Merchants' Exchange, on Dock Street - then the terminus of all the bus lines in the city - as it appeared in 1856, or less than two years before the advent of the street car. From 1850 omnibus lines started from the Merchants' Exchange to all parts of the city, including West Philadelphia.
