Section of sheet music cover depicting a steamship under full sail in choppy water. Other sailboats and ships abound in this colored print, which was published in 1853 by Lee & Walker, 188 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia. The City of Glasgow, launched in 1850 in Glasgow Scotland, sailed for the Inman Line between Liverpool and Philadelphia, and was the first ocean going iron steamship. On March 1st 1854, the vessel left Liverpool and went missing with the loss of 480 passengers and crew.
