Single item: Illustration, with accompanying article, of the second building on Chestnut Street to be occupied by the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. A year after the first structure was destroyed by fire in 1845, this larger and fire-proofed building was erected on the same site. It was sold to the Chestnut Street Opera-House in 1870. The new home for the Academy would open along Broad Street, just north of City Hall, in 1876. Engraving.
