The photograph on the bottom left is identified as the first public school building erected for the new school district, at Darien Street, north of Race Street (today, that former address would be in Chinatown, near 8th & Race Streets).  It was built in 1818.  Reproduction of a photograph for an unidentified publication, 11 x 11.5 cm, undated.

The print on the bottom right shows the first location of the Central High School for Boys, at Juniper Street, near Market Street.  It was in operation from 1838-1854, when the school moved to a new building at Broad & Green Streets. In 1900, it relocated once more, to a larger building across the street.  Then, in 1939, it moved to its present location at 1700 W Olney Avenue.  Reproduction of an early print, for an unidentified publication, 11.5 x 11.5 cm, undated.
