Item 1, top: View of the University of Pennsylvania campus looking southwest from 34th Street and Woodland Avenue. Shows College Hall (left), built 1871-1872, and Medical Hall (referred to as Logan Hall by 1906 and renamed Cohen Hall circa 2008), completed in 1874. Thomas Webb Richards, professor of drawing and architecture at the University served as the architect of both buildings. In the image, people stroll in the park-like setting that circumvents the buildings. Engraving by J. McGoffin, ca. 1872. Image size: 18.6 x 12.0 cm.

Item 3, middle right: Illustration of the University of Pennsylvania's Ninth Street campus (1801-1829). The right side of this image features the mansion, which was situated on Ninth Street above Chestnut Street, originally intended to be the residence of the President of the United States. In the center of the image sits the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts' original building. This engraving by W. A. Rogers was reproduced in unidentified publication. 12.3 x 7.4 cm.

Item 4, bottom left: Reproduction of a pen and ink drawing of the original building occupied by the University of Pennsylvania. From 1749 to 180, the campus occupied this site at Fourth and Arch Streets. The partially-drawn building on the right served as the University's dormitory. 8 x 6.5 cm.
