Item 1, top: Hall of the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, southeast corner of Twelfth Street and George (now Sansom) Street. The engraving shows the domed building in its street setting. People can be seen both walking and standing stationary in small groups. In the center of the image, three men and two horses and a dog are grouped beside a fire station. On the lower left corner sits a gas street lamp, and a covered wagon disappearing out of view. On the lower right two gentlemen are in conversation. 5.9 x 11.8 cm.

Item 2, bottom: View of the North American College of Health in its street setting. Located on the northwest corner of Fifth and Race Streets, the business was established in 1837 by William Wright to promote his patent medicines. It became the first manufacturing site for Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills. Wood engraving published in an unidentified newspaper. 13.8 x 11.9 cm.
