Notes:

Item 1, top:  Image of Medical Hall, designed in the Victorian Gothic style by architect Thomas W. Richards, in 1873, becoming the second building on the West Philadelphia campus of the University of Pennsylvania.  This building served as the Medical School until 1904, then housed the Wharton School until 1952.  After that, it became an administration building for the undergraduate colleges.  The building was renamed Logan Hall in 1906, and again renamed Claudia Cohen Hall in 2008.  Reproduction of a photograph for an unidentified publication, 20.5 x 16 cm, undated (but c. 1900).

Item 2, bottom:  Image of College Hall, designed in the Victorian Gothic style by architect Thomas W. Richards, in 1873, becoming the first building on the West Philadelphia campus of the University of Pennsylvania.  This building served as the University of Pennsylvania undergraduate facility initially; as the University expanded, it has housed the admissions and other administrative offices.  Reproduction of a photograph for an unidentified publication, 15 x 12.5 cm, undated (but c. 1900).

[Note:  The University of Pennsylvania's two 1873 West Philadelphia campus buildings on this page share the same names and functions as their 1829 predecessors on the 9th Street campus.   The image at the top of the previous item, #pdcc03058, shows the two earlier buildings.]
