Thomas Moore [May 28 1779 - February 15 1852] was an irish poet, singer and songwriter now best known for the lyrics to the popular song The Last Rose of Summer. On an extended visit to the New World, he stayed briefly in Philadelphia in 1803. However, there's no evidence he stayed at the cottage named after him.
