Newspaper clipping taken from The North American, Philadelphia, Sunday, May 1, 1904.

This summer garden was built about 1828 by Peter A. Brow, an attorney who also built the Arcade on Chestnut Street. The garden stood just east of the Fairmount Water Works. The Chinese tower was 110 feet high and equipped with a telescope. The garden included a labryinth and other amusement features and a restaurant.
