View of the front of the Aldine Hotel located on Chestnut Street, between Nineteenth and Twentieth Streets. Built 1848-1851 as the home of Dr. James Rush, it underwent extensive renovations after publisher J. B. Lippincott purchased the house in 1875 and opened it as a luxury hotel in 1877.
