Halftone reproduction of a photograph of the Hotel Hanover, located on the corner of 12th & Arch Street close to the Pennsylvania & Reading Railroad Station. Opened in 1893, the hotel was designed by architect Angus S. Wade.

Item pdcc01097, bottom right [image dimensions 7.6 cm x 10.3 cm]:

Engraving depicts the State House Inn, which was located on the north side of Chestnut Street between 5th and 6th Streets opposite the State House. The small two-story tavern was built in 1693, and for a long time provided an amenity for those visiting the colonial Assemblies.
